Headlight 9.5oz 1900's Denim Coverall Work Jacket by Sugar Cane

£255.00

This is a reproduction of a valuable model produced in the 1910s. It is made of a 9.5-ounce fabric and has unusual asymmetrical pockets on both sides of the chest. The pockets are adorned with V-stitching, a detail said to be characteristic of the 1910s, and there is even an inner pocket on the inside of the right chest.

The buttons used are change buttons made of a combination of brass and iron, and this is a meticulously crafted piece that even reproduces the engraving on the back (the period when the patent was supposedly obtained) based on the original.

Headlight was a brand of the Larned Carter Company, which started in the early 1900s and existed until the 1960s. Unusually for the time, they handled everything from weaving to sewing in-house, demonstrating their commitment to product quality.

|As indicated by the trademarks on the labels and hangtags, it was favored and supplied to railroad workers and engineers. Even today, it is a highly sought-after and difficult-to-obtain item among vintage collectors.
